DORIAN WIND QUARTET

Recognized by critics, audiences, and professional musicians alike for its uniquely polished and passionate performances, The Dorian Wind Quintet is known worldwide as one of chamber music’s preeminent and longest continuously-active ensembles. The Quintet has literally been around the world – concertizing in the United States and Canada, touring Europe eighteen times, and playing throughout the Middle East, India, Africa and Asia. The Dorian made history as the first wind quintet to appear at Carnegie Hall.

Winners of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, they have emerged as one of the premier young string quartets performing today. Their dynamic performances, shaped by rigorous training and global touring, captivate audiences across leading stages worldwide. They return to us after a thunderous performance in 2024.

JOHN KIMURA PARKER

Jon Kimura Parker is an internationally acclaimed American pianist celebrated for his charisma and virtuosity. A Gold Medal winner at the Leeds International Piano Competition, he has performed with major orchestras worldwide and serves as a professor at Rice University. Parker is also a Juno Award winner and a recipient of the Order of Canada. He records and champions contemporary music.

CAMERATA NORDICA

Camerata Nordica is one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed chamber orchestras, renowned for its artistic versatility and dynamic programming. Based in Sweden, the ensemble performs without a conductor, collaborating with leading soloists and directors from around the world. Camerata Nordica has received international recognition for its recordings and tours, earning critical praise for its refined sound and expressive range. The ensemble will perform Mendelssohn’s Octet, a cornerstone of the chamber repertoire, in this season’s program.
